Students under 13 years of age who were creating new accounts on the FUSE site prior to April 2020 needed a teacher to type their User Name and Password into the computer to verify that the user has a signed permission form.
This is not possible if the teacher is not in the same room as the student during e-learning, so we have adapted our process to remove that need.
What Has Changed
From now on, by sharing a Studio Code with a student, a teacher verifies that the student has received parental permission to create an account of fusestudio.net, as well as any 3rd party software that is used in the program. The act of sharing the Studio Code replaces the need for entering your credentials into the students terminal.
Students will no longer be asked for a teachers credentials when signing up if they are under 13 years old. They will see a new message that reads:
Facilitators will see a new message in their Toolkit on the Settings tab where the Studio Code is located that reads:
"Reminder: Users under 13 must have signed permission forms before starting FUSE."
