There are going to be those days when the energy just isn't there. To give your studio a boost, use a quick, hands on, STEAM activity that gets everyone excited and moving around. Here at FUSE we call these Quick Fire challenges. 🔥🔥🔥
One FUSE facilitator we talked to keeps a handful of these activities ready for immediate deployment. As soon as he senses a slump in the energy, he plays the opening bars of Eye of the Tiger, puts up a slide of his Quick Fire challenge of choice, and his students IMMEDIATELY get to work.
Zip Line Contest
In our trainings we run a zip line activity that serves this purpose quite nicely.
Basic set up:
Using tape and string, make two parallel zip lines running from at least 5 feet up on a wall down to a spot about 10 feet way from the wall. Give each team the following: 5 straws, 5 paperclips, 10 washers, 1 roll of masking tape, 1 piece of paper, and 1 ping pong ball.
Give the teams 10 minutes to make a holder for the ping pong ball that gets the ball to the bottom of the zip line faster than any other team. Once 10 minutes are up, run a bracket style competition.
Five Minute Face
Looking for something digital with no supplies? This one is for you. Have each student go to sculpt.fusestudio.net and make the wackiest face they can in five minutes.
We've been collecting great ideas for these Quick Fire Challenges on Slack. You can check out the channel here: https://fuse-community.slack.com/messages/C6EF5C08Y/
