NOTE: This article only impacts schools that started in 2018 or purchased the LED Color Lights 2.0 upgrade kit. If you have 9 volt batteries in your LED Color Lights kit then you can disregard the rest of this article.
We're very excited to announce that after briefly having to be shut down, LED Color Lights 2.0 is again ready for action!
Why Was LED Color Lights 2.0 Temporarily Suspended?
FUSE facilitators let us know that because of the nature of the AAA battery holder in the kits it was easy for students to accidentally short circuit the AAA batteries.
Facilitators saw this create enough heat to cause smoke and to melt plastic.
In order to prevent any accidents as a result of this, we chose to temporarily remove LED Color Lights 2.0 from the FUSE Challenge Gallery.
What do I Need to Do?
If you started FUSE in 2018 or you purchased the LED Color Lights 2.0 Upgrade Kit, then by now you should haver received six new battery holders from FUSE with rigid positive and negative legs to replace the old AAA battery holders. Please remove all batteries from the holders with wires, discard those holders, and replace them with the battery holders with the rigid legs.
Then double check that LED Color Lights 2.0 is turned on for your studios and enjoy!
