This is the OLD version of the challenge and it is not recommended. Please use the OnShape version of the challenge. In Jewelry Designer v1: Sketchup, students will use the desktop version of Sketchup to design jewelry that is then printed on the 3D printer.
What You Should Know
We recommend the OnShape version of the challenge because it is much more 3d printing friendly. The Sketchup software is capable of creating models for 3d printing but was never designed to do so, and complications arise more often as a result.
You do not need to download any design software and students are automatically taken to the website through the challenge page.
The constraints of the challenge mean that the print should take around 20 to 30 minutes to produce a single student project.
The kit contains common hardware used in simple jewelry fabrication.
Make sure you have activated the most recent version of the challenge and only that version.
