In Coaster Boss, students will simulate a roller coaster track using long foam tubes.
What you should know:
The foam tubes are designed to be re-used, but will eventually wear out. You can use resupply credit to get a replacement set at anytime.
Facilitators have used duct tape on the ends of the tubes to prolong their life, because as the students add and remove masking tape from them as they work on the challenge it degrades the ends of the foam.
Another insider tip has been to remove some of the ball bearings from the Coaster Boss kit and keep them somewhere safe because they get lost easily. Keeping a few as backup will make the students more likely to try hard to find the ones that roll astray. If you find that many are getting lost, check to see if students are taping a cup to the end of the last tube to catch them as they exit the coaster.
