The Party Lights challenge has students build a simple LED light circuit and use the Arduino to program it's actions.
What You Should Know
Party Lights is a great introductory Arduino challenge. It is recommended to open it before Smart Castle or Mini Jumbotron.
The current version of Party Lights uses the desktop, IDE, version of Arduino. You will want to install this software on any machine that students are using to upload their code.
If a student starts the challenge on a Chromebook, they will need to switch to a desktop machine with either a Windows or Mac operating system to be able to use the Arduino IDE software to upload their code to the Arduino micro controller board.
