In Dream Home v2: Online, students will design their future abode. This is far and away FUSE's most popular challenge. Make only this version available unless you have downloaded Sketchup in years past.
What You Should Know
Sketchup, as used in this Web version of the challenge, does not require a download. It uses a version of Sketchup that is entirely web based. A free account is needed and can be created using the link HERE. It is recommended to uninstall the desktop version of Sketchup if it already on your computers to avoid confusion later on.
Common hang ups for students stem from not following the steps in the instructional videos to the T. Often, after downloading the default landscape on which they will build their home, students try and open this file directly from their computer instead of uploading it to their cloud account as is demonstrated in the video. The correct moves in the video can be subtle, but each click is important. Students may need to slow down the video in the video players settings (the gear icon) to keep up, or just pause the video often, both of which are common and recommended if needed.
There is a good help video on the rightmost column of the challenge that explains how to navigate inside of the 3D environment if you notice some students struggling with manipulating the viewing space
